Yasmin Prince

Yasmin is appointed by the McLeod Lake Indian Band as Director of the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest Corporation.

Danache’a, I am Yasmin Prince.

I was adopted as a baby and grew up on Vancouver Island.  I made connection with McLeod Lake Indian Band in 1998 and reconnected with my family and community.

I have always had the energy for working with youth and more recently with Aboriginal Child welfare on the Island.  Currently I am a Family Advocate and Facilitator for South Island Wellness Society on Tsawout Territory.

I have been part of the McLeod Lake Board of Trustees from 2003-2006 and part of Chief and Council from 2008-2016.  I have pride in who I am and where I come from.  This includes the responsibility I have as a band member and a steward of our lands.

“Community and resource collaboration is key to our success and sustainability of our resources, programs and to ensure our footprints we leave behind are the ones our children will be proud to walk in.” – Deb Prince.
